Law, Advocacy & the Arts
The Creative Trust
“Protect the work. Protect the person.”
Our Mission
Protect the work. Protect the person.
Emerging artists sign things nobody has read for them. The Creative Trust gives them a lawyer: contract review, intellectual-property protection, business formation, and the rights education that prevents the next bad deal — across fashion, film, music, performance, visual art, writing, design, sport, and digital work. Executive Director Anthony Clemenza is an entertainment lawyer and practises through the Trust, alongside volunteer pro-bono counsel. Artists are never charged.
The promise
An artist who knows their rights keeps what their work is worth.

How It Works
From first call to lasting protection.
01
Tell us what you need.
Share your project, contract, or concern through a confidential intake. No legalese required — just tell us your story.
02
An attorney-led team reviews your matter.
Human staff and attorneys review your request and determine the right service path. Anthony Clemenza leads the program's legal service, supported by additional volunteer pro-bono counsel.
03
Receive practical legal protection.
When eligible and within scope, receive direct pro-bono service for contracts, IP and trademarks, business formation, or advocacy and safety. Matters outside scope or capacity receive an appropriate referral.
04
Protection that outlasts the matter.
Leave with your work protected and the knowledge to keep protecting it as your career grows.
In Partnership with Stage Door Society
Funding for your art, curated.
Protection is only half the story. Through our partnership with Stage Door Society, we point artists toward arts-specific grants, fellowships, and competitions — so the right opportunity is never out of reach.
