The Legacy Foundation
Wild Windows.
A window to the living world.
“Access to the living world should never depend on a child’s ZIP code.”
A free, curated guide to live animal cameras from zoos, sanctuaries, parks, and conservation projects around the world. Built for classrooms, families, hospitals, senior centers, and anyone who wants to look up from where they are and see what’s alive out there.
Watch Now
In daylight, somewhere on Earth.
Cams that are in daytime hours at their location right now. Updates hourly. Click any card for the full profile, source attribution, and conservation context.
The Promise
What makes Wild Windows different.
There are already places to watch animals online. None of them combine curated sourcing, scientific taxonomy, classroom-grade pedagogy, and a nonprofit posture that funds the work of the institutions doing it. Wild Windows is that combination — built to be the most trustworthy way to bring the living world into a room.
What's worth watching right now
A live-status pipeline keeps the catalog honest. No more clicking through dark feeds — badges tell you what's active, where, and why it matters.
Grounded in real taxonomy
Every species is backed by canonical GBIF taxonomy and an IUCN Red List status. The cam isn't entertainment — it's a doorway to the science behind the animal.
Built for classrooms
Downloadable bingo cards, behavior ethograms, and lesson plans. No accounts required for kids. Mixed-audience COPPA posture — privacy-enhanced embeds, no behavioral ads.
Support flows back to the source
Every cam page links to the institution behind it — with a clear path to donate, visit, or become a member. We're an index, not an extractor.
Sourcing you can trust
No restreaming. No private feeds. No exploitative content. Every cam is hand-verified, and every embed has a documented permission status.
Sponsored to stay free
Foundation- and corporate-funded so the public guide is always free for families, classrooms, hospitals, and senior centers.
The Build
A patient launch, in three movements.
We’d rather earn trust than rush a number. Wild Windows is being built in public, phase by phase, with sourcing, ethics, and education as the bedrock.
2026
Phase 1 — Soft launch
200–500 hand-verified cams across species, sources, and continents. Classroom kits, sourcing-and-ethics policy, sponsor and partner pipelines live.
2026–2027
Phase 2 — Public expansion
Map view, favorites, back-online alerts, classroom playlist builder, partner analytics, smart-TV viewing mode.
2027+
Phase 3 — Funded cameras
The Legacy Foundation co-funds new cameras at under-resourced sanctuaries and schools — so kids and educators can see places they otherwise never would.
