Vehicle
Car, truck, motorcycle, boat, or RV — running or not. Free pickup, clear paperwork, and real impact for the communities we serve.
A vehicle you no longer need can fund real opportunity across our programs. The Legacy Foundation accepts cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, and RVs — in almost any condition — and handles the sale end to end. We arrange free pickup, take care of the title transfer, and put the proceeds to work in financial education, the arts, mentorship, and outdoor programs. It's one of the simplest ways to turn an idle asset into lasting good.

We handle the logistics
Our team confirms everything and arranges pickup, transport, and sale — you don't ship a thing.
You get your paperwork
We send your receipt and any required IRS acknowledgment so your advisor can finalize your deduction.
Tell us about your gift
For most donated vehicles your deduction is the gross amount we actually receive when the vehicle is sold, not a book value — so we'll report the sale price to you. If we keep the vehicle for program use or sell it below market to someone in need, different rules may let you use fair market value. We'll tell you which applies to your gift.
The Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) (EIN 20-4557510). Vehicle gifts follow special IRS rules (Publication 4303). If we sell the vehicle, your deduction is generally limited to the gross sale proceeds, and we'll furnish IRS Form 1098-C (or a written acknowledgment) within 30 days of the sale. You'll need that form to claim a deduction over $500. We cannot give tax advice — please consult your advisor.
Common questions
No. We accept most vehicles whether or not they run, and pickup or towing is always free. Tell us the condition on the form and we'll handle the rest.
