A program of The Legacy Foundation
Your empty seat becomes
someone's first unforgettable night.
Seat Forward turns unused tickets — to games, concerts, theater, and more — into live experiences for young people, veterans, and families who'd never otherwise get to go.
Tax-deductible · Seats placed through vetted local organizations · Every donation acknowledged
Why it matters
Seats go empty every night.
Access shouldn't.
Across every arena, theater, and stadium, thousands of paid seats sit empty — while a child who's never seen live music, a veteran returning home, or a family stretched thin never gets the chance. Seat Forward closes that gap, making it effortless to send a seat forward instead of letting it go to waste.
How it works
Where your seat goes —
clearly, every time.
When you give a seat, you authorize us to put it to its highest-impact use. Here's exactly what that means, in order.
Placed
We first offer your seat, through vetted partner organizations, to a young person, veteran, or family in our community.
Matched
Select seats go to our flagship recipients — the stories we share back with you so you see the impact firsthand.
Acknowledged
You always receive a tax-deductible acknowledgment and an impact update — so you see the good your seat did.
Ways to give
However you have seats to give,
there's a place for you.
Who receives seats
Thoughtful about who we serve —
and how.
Young people
Students and youth who would never otherwise see live music, theater, or a professional game — first experiences that open doors.
Veterans & military families
Service members, veterans, and their families — a night out as a small thank-you for what they've given.
Families facing hardship
Families stretched thin who deserve a shared memory that has nothing to do with what they can afford.
We don't hand out seats at random. Recipients reach us through vetted, community-serving partner organizations, and any program involving minors follows strict safeguarding standards, including partner background-check and chaperone requirements. We're currently building our founding partner network in the New York City metro area and expanding outward.
Tax & transparency
Generous —
and straightforward.
The Legacy Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 20-4557510). Every seat donation receives a written acknowledgment for your records.
Because the IRS asks donors to determine fair market value for in-kind gifts like tickets, we provide the details you need and recommend confirming your deduction with your tax advisor. Where a donated seat is monetized to fund the mission, that's disclosed in your acknowledgment. No surprises, ever.
