Purpose and scope
These terms govern participation in The Legacy Foundation's Seat Forward charitable access program. Seat Forward connects donated event tickets with young people, veterans, military families, and families facing hardship in New York City — all five boroughs — plus Long Island and the Hamptons.
These terms apply to a family account, each person who receives an allocation, and each responsible adult who claims or attends an experience. They supplement, and do not replace, the event organizer's, venue's, ticket issuer's, and ticketing platform's terms.
Eligibility and verification
You must provide accurate information and use the verification path presented to you. Registration, referral, or verification does not guarantee a ticket, a specific event, or continued access.
The Foundation may request updated information, correct an account record, pause an application, or decline participation when eligibility cannot be confirmed or when the program's capacity is limited.
Claims and allocation
A seat is allocated only when the Foundation sends a confirmation for a specific event or outing. A suggested match, invitation, or account notification is not a confirmed allocation until the stated claim steps are completed.
Claims must be completed by the deadline shown in the invitation. Unclaimed or released seats may be returned to the matching pool so another eligible household can use them.
- Seat Forward may set fair per-household, per-event, or seasonal limits.
- Seats have no cash value and may not be exchanged for money, credit, or another event.
- The Foundation may reallocate a seat when a claim is incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, or no longer workable.
Responsible adult and attendance
For a family-accompanied experience, the responsible adult named by the family must attend, supervise the household's group, and follow the event rules. For a Foundation-chaperoned outing, the Foundation's confirmed chaperone and meeting-point instructions control.
A recipient may bring only the guests or companions identified in the allocation. The lead adult may not transfer the allocation to another household or allow a person who was not approved to replace the named participant without written approval.
Ticket security and no resale
Ticket links, mobile-wallet invitations, PDFs, barcodes, and access codes are private. Keep them secure, use them only for the approved event, and follow any ticketing-platform instructions.
- Do not resell, auction, trade, duplicate, screenshot for redistribution, or commercially use a Seat Forward ticket.
- Do not post a ticket, link, barcode, or access code publicly or send it to an unauthorized person.
- The Foundation may cancel an allocation and suspend an account when misuse, fraud, or resale is reported or reasonably suspected.
Event, venue, and admission rules
The event organizer and venue control admission, security screening, seating, age restrictions, last entry, bag policies, accessibility operations, and conduct requirements. Venue staff may refuse admission where their rules or applicable law allow.
Arrive early enough to complete screening and follow the event-specific rules presented before the claim is finalized. Seat Forward cannot guarantee late admission, a particular seat location, or admission when a recipient does not follow the applicable rules.
Accessibility and support
Tell us about an accessibility need as early as possible at tickets@supportlegacy.org. We will make a reasonable effort to coordinate with the venue or event organizer and identify a suitable option, but we cannot promise an accommodation controlled by a third party or a particular seat location.
Accessibility information is used to coordinate the experience and is not used to reduce a household's dignity or eligibility.
Changes, cancellations, and no-shows
Events may be canceled, postponed, moved, shortened, or changed by the organizer or venue. We will communicate material information we receive and, when reasonably possible, offer a replacement allocation or re-matching path. A replacement is not guaranteed.
If you cannot attend, tell us promptly using the support path in your confirmation so the seat can be returned to another household. Repeated no-shows may reduce future priority or pause access; a single missed event will be reviewed in context.
Safeguarding and family responsibilities
Youth participation requires the applicable parental or legal-guardian consent, emergency and medical information, code-of-conduct acknowledgment, and any outing-specific requirements before the roster locks or tickets are released.
Foundation-chaperoned outings require cleared adults and the applicable supervision ratio. No youth is transported or supervised outside the approved operating model. Families must follow meeting-point, pickup, check-in, and communication instructions.
No fee and no tax benefit to recipients
Seat Forward does not charge families or recipients for a charitable allocation. Receiving or attending an event does not create a charitable contribution, tax deduction, ownership interest, or right to demand a replacement or cash payment.
Privacy and media choices
We use family, guardian, accessibility, emergency, and medical information only for program administration, safety, communications, and legal obligations described in our Privacy Policy. Access is limited to people who need the information for those purposes.
Media permission is separate and optional. Declining photography or storytelling never affects eligibility, matching, or participation.
Risk and limitations
Live events involve ordinary travel, public-venue, crowd, weather, and event-specific risks. Any separate waiver or assumption-of-risk form must be reviewed and signed where required. Nothing in these terms waives a right that cannot lawfully be waived.
To the extent permitted by law, the Foundation is not responsible for the acts or omissions of an event organizer, venue, ticket issuer, transportation provider, or other third party. These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Contact and updates
Questions, accessibility requests, event changes, and release requests may be sent to tickets@supportlegacy.org. We may update these terms for future participation. Material changes will be identified by a new version date and may require a new acceptance before a future allocation or outing.
