Each year a single Northern Royal Albatross pair raises one chick at Taiaroa Head on New Zealand's Otago Peninsula. The Royal Cam — operated by the NZ Department of Conservation in partnership with Cornell Lab of Ornithology — follows the breeding pair from courtship through the chick's long first flight to sea, roughly one year later.
